KALEISSERA

Caregiving, paperwork and you.
Present for others. Present for yourself.
Honestly: being there for someone with complex support needs is rarely intuitive and never simple.
Here you'll find a practical knowledge base covering care, navigating systems, and the real everyday life in between. Plus reflections on relationships and self-care — not as extras, but as essentials.
And because caregiving deserves to be seen: this is also a space where we talk about it openly, honestly and without looking away

Why Kaleissera exists
Hi, I'm Ola — mum to a teenager with complex support needs. Professionally, I'm a project manager with over 20 years of experience in planning, coordination and communication — across countries, languages and time zones.
Everything on this site comes from lived experience. Every situation, every form, every system — my personal perspective, not a universal truth.
I created Kaleissera to make sense of everyday life in an honest and practical way, make sure you know you're not alone in this — and bring into the open what is far too often invisible.
Because the reality of people who care for others deserves more recognition, more attention, and more support.
What does Kaleissera mean?
The name is a blend of kaleidoscope (from the ancient Greek for "observer of beautiful forms") and tessera (Latin for the individual tiles that make up a mosaic).
Together, the word captures the ability to navigate the constantly shifting pieces of everyday life: arranging the tiles of daily reality into something stable — and leaving room for what truly matters.
