Welcome to Kaleissera
A personal introduction about paperwork, the caregiving everyday — and the wish for a space that's clear, honest and actually helpful.
THIS & THAT

Hi, I’m Ola.
Kaleissera didn’t start as a “project” in the traditional sense. It started somewhere between a stack of paperwork, a late-night Google search, and that quiet thought most caregivers know very well: there has to be an easier way to navigate all of this. And that’s coming from someone who plans for a living.
If you’re here, chances are you’re taking care of someone. And if that’s the case, you probably know how quickly your own needs slip to the bottom of the list — somewhere between appointments, cooking, forms, cleaning, phone calls, and everything else that somehow ends up on your plate.
This space is for exactly that kind of life: the full one, the messy one, the one where you’re trying to hold things together and still remember that you matter too.
I’ve been there for years. Still am, to be honest.
What I kept running into wasn’t a lack of information. It was the opposite. There’s a lot out there — websites, official pages, guides, recommendations. But most of it is scattered, written in a way that takes energy to decode, or so general that it doesn’t really help in real life.
So I started collecting things for myself.
Small notes. Links that actually made sense. Little shortcuts. Thoughts I wish someone had told me earlier. Ways to make things just a bit more manageable — not perfect, just… easier.
At some point, I realised that some of the shortcuts I shared with other people were helping them too. And then it started to feel a bit wrong to keep all of that to myself.
That’s how Kaleissera came to life.
This is not a place for perfect solutions. And definitely not a place for advice that pretends to fit everyone. What you’ll find here are pieces of experience — things that worked for me, things that didn’t, and everything in between.
You’ll also notice something else: the language here is simple and direct. On purpose.
Because if you’ve ever tried to read through official information from your health insurer or a public office after a long day, you know how exhausting that can be. You shouldn’t need a dictionary and a clear head just to understand something that is already part of a difficult situation.
So here, things are explained the way I would explain them to a friend: clear, direct, and without unnecessary detours.
Not because the topics are simple — they’re not.
But because understanding them should be.
Kaleissera is, in a way, what I wish I had found earlier:
one place to come back to,
one place that doesn’t overwhelm,
one place that quietly reminds you that while you’re taking care of everything and everyone else, you’re still a crucial part of the equation.
If something here makes your day even a tiny bit easier, then it’s already doing what it was meant to do.
